Rosso Fiorentino Certaldo Series 2

£7,800.00£8,750.00

SLIM DESIGN, FULL-SCALE SOUND
The new Certaldo series 2 floorstander is a mostly re-thought and re-designed system which takes the performance of our slim design floorstander up to the next level. It definitely performs out of its physical size. It already did, but now in an even more seductive and elegant way.

Description

Certaldo series 2 inherits the hybrid rear/down firing loading system of the previous version and further develops it.
Enclosure volume was increased around 10% and in order to obtain a greater low-end octave authority and reduced distortion the 5.25” mid-woofers were re-engineered focusing on the motor venting system and suspension material.
An additional improvement was also provided by the underneath aluminium port with its redesigned and enlarged gradual flaring which contributed to the overall over-damped yet powerful bass performance.

Having demonstrated an excellent overall performance we decided to reconfirm the 1” neodymium wide surround silk dome tweeter used in the previous Certaldo. Thanks to the implementation of an all-new crossover, this unit has found a second youth integrating in an even more linear way with the midwoofers. Like its sibling Pienza, the Certaldo features a highly sophisticated enclosure, where a blend of mechanically different materials helps to render the cabinet incredibly still and inert allowing the wonderfully accurate and detailed drivers to operate with utmost clarity and dynamics.

Certaldo series2 implements a totally re-engineered crossover circuit which provides a more extended low frequency emission, a higher efficiency and a practically ‘resistive’ impedance which makes it possible to pair this model with a wide range of electronics.
The use of top quality components like the custom Rosso capacitors made by ClarityCap, thick film resistors and our new made in Italy inductors adds that extra touch of refinement and dynamics to the full sound of this speaker.

A simple, clean and slim design with a refined soul, visually underlined by its precious construction details.

A slim, elegant floorstander designed to blend in style into your home with a surprising acoustic presence usually found in a much larger speaker.

THE WAY WE ARE

Rosso Fiorentino is more than just a loudspeaker manufacturer.
RF is enthusiasm for the magic that happens every time we create a sounding machine, it’s a way of life, it’s love for music and for its ability to stir emotions and bring people together.

From the very beginning I wanted RF to be different from the other brands for its absolute acoustic performance, refined craftsmanship and Italian elegance. With the Rosso Fiorentino systems, I wish to convey our culture to the listeners, a culture that is deeply rooted within all members of our company, and which is based on a common passion for live music, an academic background in electroacoustics, and the instinctive pursuit of elegance.

Our is a Tuscan company and from our history and culture we draw inspiration to always look for new ways to improve ourselves. Our loudspeakers embody the soul of the place where they are made. Their sound reflects the character of our land… straight, essential, always caring for proportion and detail, made to last.
Francesco Rubenni
ELECTROACOUSTIC DESIGNER AND FOUNDER, ROSSO FIORENTINO AUDIO SRL

ITALIAN ELEGANCE

Elegance is a very important aspect of our life, a balance between innate good taste and precise choices, care for the essence and meticulous attention to each detail.
Here at RF we always look for elegance in the design. This means that our style is more than a set of aesthetic traits, it is a collaborative work between designers and engineers searching together for the ‘necessary beauty’ where every line and proportion is conceived to reach the desired acoustic performance as well as to visually reveal the characteristic of the loudspeaker system.

Francesco Rubenni and his collaborators are driven by an unparalleled passion for music and electroacoustics. Every new project is a challenge, a constant research looking for new ways to reach a better performance but at the same time never forgetting their final target…the emotional pleasure of listening to music.

We like to think of our design as the result of a deep technical understanding of how loudspeakers work and the client’s desire for an involving and breathtaking listening experience.

THE WAY WE WORK

The design of RF models is carried out by Francesco and his collaborators. Francesco follows every step of the creative process, from the initial ideas to the first sketches on paper, which then become technical, computerized and eventually ready for simulations and optimisation of the production methods and processes.

At the prototype stage, the design becomes a physical shape and the long process of measurements, listening and fine tuning takes place. During this part of the work Francesco uses all his expertise and passion to model the sound and to improve every single technical parameter of the loudspeaker.

However, as we all know, a dream never comes true unless it is shared with others.

During the listening session all the RF team joins in , but that’s not all, at this stage the involvement of our musician ‘friends’ becomes really important. Involving them in the tuning  of our system, in making recordings, in listening back,  in trying different technical solutions, enables us to make well balanced loudspeakers capable of playing any kind of music and evoking deep emotion in the listener.

THE MEANING OF A BRAND NAME
ROSSO FIORENTINO

Rosso Fiorentino (Giovan Battista di Jacopo, Firenze 1495 – Fontainebleau 1540) was one of the most talented and unconventional Florentine artists of the early 16th century.
He assimilated the innovations of Leonardo, Michelangelo and Raffaello but went on to experiment with a freer technique and more abstract forms.
His paintings forcefully express the strength of the colours, the sophisticated interpretation of the details, the luminosity of the reflections and an underlying artistic rigour.
The gauntlet he threw down to those who had already interpreted all there was to interpret is something that intrigues us and inspires our work daily.
